Briarcliff HS Cross Country Runner Wins State Championship BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Briarcliff student Ryan Gallagher earned a record-breaking win at states on Saturday, Nov. 12. Briarcliff High School senior Ryan Gallagher has made history as the school’s first-ever New York State cross-country champion. Gallagher led the competition at the 2016 New York State Class C Cross-Country Championships at Chenango Valley State Park, winning by 13 seconds. She graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 1949.  Pontone was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Robert E. Pontone; and sister, Estelle Loftus (William). Anna Knoblauch, 94, Of Pleasant Valley PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- Anna Knoblauch, of Pleasant Valley, died Sunday, Nov. 13. She was 94. Knoblauch was born Jan. 19, 1922, in Millbrook, to the late Joseph and Anna (Rassman) Volk.  She was predeceased by her husband, the late Paul Knoblauch; and two brothers, Joseph and John.  She is survived by many dear friends.
