DO NOT TALK TO PASSENGERS WHILE DRIVING. Absolute silence must be maintained in your vehicle, or police with parabolic microphones, hidden on overpasses above, will arrest you at the next roadblock. If little Heather, in the back seat, is beating the crap out of little Jason, you must not intervene in an audible or seemingly distracted manner. Wait until you have been stopped at a convenient roadblock to discipline your children. Donuts or coffee must be securely stored in the trunk. Remember, as your friend, the Police Commandant has said, "We might be anywhere, and we will seem to be everywhere"! Do not be afraid; and, above all, do not seem to be laughing--even silently--at police in ninja suits manning roadblocks or monitoring drones on highways. First offense for laughing--or crying--even silently, at roadblocks: $500. And remember, as the Commandant has said, "We are not doing this to harass you." Have a nice day! View Comment
Why humiliate that poor bear by making him wear those stupid ear-tags? I'm sure he will strike out in mating season. Would you try to pick up a girl in a singles bar who wore ear tags like that? I didn't think so. View Comment
Too bad those millions of innocent babies being murdered in the abortion mills of this country don't have a "Buddy's Law" to protect them. View Comment
So sensitive and empathetic to protect the poor puppies at puppy-mills. When will they direct some of their energy toward saving the tiny human "puppies" murdered daily at ABORTION MILLS.? View Comment
These Huffington Post stories seem to be all about minorities (judging by ghetto- style first names, cities, diets, family circumstances, speech styles etc.) Minorities have traditionally had a violent record of using straight razors, knives, and, increasingly, firearms, to cause mayhem in their communities. The obvious solution would be to target strict gun control measures at non-Asian minorities, but that might raise significant constitutional issues. The liberal response to gun violence seems to be to deprive ALL citizens of their rights guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment, and we lawful gun-owners reject that attempt, and will not obey any laws directed at us.
Incidentally, I am skeptical about the ability of a two year old to possess the hand strength to fire a large caliber revolver--unless it were lying loaded and cocked, in which case the adult needs to be incarcerated for a long period of time.
Thanks for posting this article, as tendentious as it is. View Comment
How dare those Republicans stand in the way of the onrushing forces of socialism and bankruptcy that are transforming America! I'm sure Rep. Hines revealed, in his speech, where the funds will be coming from to pay for the continuance of the SNAP program. Space considerations in the article must have prevented the revelation of where those funds will be coming from. View Comment
He lied several times about being in Vietnam, despite his aides telling him to stop. I think he deluded himself into actually believing he was there. He went in the reserves for 6 months, and never left the states. View Comment
I got dragged to see "Kinky Boots", and, to be honest, it's not bad, although the movie was much better. Hint, however, when seeing any show that Harvey Fierstein is connected with, bring a can of Lysol and spray your seat before sitting down. You never know what's been sitting there before you. Broad River: Thanks for the advice, which I will try to follow with my limited computer skills. I have been blocked by the New York Daily News site, for some reason, for months. Webmaster is unresponsive, and savvy friends say I have to change my IP address, which seems more trouble than it is worth. Your ways seem reasonably easy, and I will let you know how I do. Thanks again. View Comment
I figured Joe and Hadassah Lieberman would be retiring to Israel, after all the loyal service they have given that nation over the years while he was in public office in America. View Comment
The driver was doing "100MPH in the breakdown lane", flies the car 60 feet in the air before striking a tree, and, after driving recklessly, flees the scene, leaving an injured passenger in the car; hides under a deck on private property; and is released on $100 bond? Sounds like they're really cracking down on this type of dangerous driving! This may be a bit harsh, and they seem to be making an example of this kid. View Comment
This thread often becomes the equivalent of an orderly class discussion on a subject, disrupted by a couple of special-ed pests loudly insulting each other in the back of the room. View Comment
He should praise these grandstanding hacks only for adjourning. Their "achievements" in the past session include violating the constitutional rights of gun-owning citizens; and driving even more taxpayers out of this once great state with confiscatory taxes and wild spending. View Comment
True, sailor, and now that the sexist custom of naming storms only for women has been broken for years now; and even some male, hispanic names have been adopted, it may be time to begin naming hurricanes for African -Americans. (Tropical disturbance Jamal, Shamika or Trayvon come to mind); or even for gay people ( Hurricane Bruce or Butch might be candidates). The National Weather Service does little other than predict and track storms--often in error--so the modest expansion of the Bureau of Storm Naming might be a significant way to provide value to the taxpayers.
