I'm confused as why it's Darien PD and not Norwalk PD? I'm guessing we won't get an answer to that one. When I first started going out in those waters, I not only went w/ someone, but they told me to go over my chart, first, until I knew them by heart, and to pay close attention to both entrances to the harbor at low tide so I'd know where the rocks are. No such thing as a short cut. Ever! View Comment
It was enjoyable listening to even more noise from the farm, as if there isn't enough on a daily basis. They're terrible neighbors who don't give one whit about interfering w/ the peace and solitude that once was. View Comment
It's hard for anyone to be open 7 days a week RG! I don't care who you are, one day off is necessary to regroup. Possibly staying open later on Saturday is something Karen can look into.
Good luck Karen, I'm going to stop by and check it out :) View Comment
Right, but Himes hasn't accomplished one darned thing! Our borders are more porous than ever, and w/ ISIS, or whatever acronym you'd like to give them, they're more than likely crossing, as well. How about we address that issue, as well? Or, can't the Dems multi-task. Rhetorical question not requiring a question mark. I realize we're not at war w/ ISIS, and they're not terrorists, but I'm a tad more concerned about them than I am about being stuck in traffic, or another 9/11. Granted, infrastructure is crucial, but so is fighting terrorism/radical Islam. View Comment
And how is it that you know these people are Republicans? All (many, of course, don't drink) people, regardless of political affiliation consume alcohol. The fact that the driver stopped and remained at the scene does not indicate that he was at the party, nor does it have anything to do w/ the party. It has nothing to do w/ anything, actually, same as your comments. I feel sorry for the driver, as this is something he's going to have to live w/ for the remainder of his life. It's patently obvious that he did no wrong, since the police are not pressing charges. Many lives were ruined that night. Political beliefs has nothing to do w/ this tragedy! View Comment
I agree gardenmom. If you need an alarm to go off to remind you that your kid's in the car, then the issue is w/ you. No technology will cover the lack of attention. Besides, the guy went out to his car for his danged lunch break. Did he require an app for that. This is reckless disregard. View Comment
I cannot even begin to comprehend what is not going through these individual's minds. Get a babysitter. There are plenty of high school kids who would watch your child for a couple of hours. View Comment
She is one of the far right nutso's who gives conservatives a bad name. I honestly wish she'd be quiet and go away, but this is the attention she craves and, sadly we're giving it to her. Enough said. View Comment
I say kudo's to the woman who took the time to take a CPR class, otherwise this child wouldn't have survived. Imo, taking a CPR class is the least expensive investment you'll make in your child's life. At least these mothers were in sight of the kids. View Comment
I agree Nancy. We have become such a litigious society, and that drum beat seems to be never ending regardless of the mere happenstance of a tree falling, which as you said, can happen at any given time. This is truly a tragedy, but that's what insurance is for, not lawsuits. View Comment
A tad ironic, isn't it.
That being said, I do wish they'd have the common sense to ban cigarettes at the beaches. Enough research has been done to know that 2nd hand smoke is just as harmful as if you'd smoked it yourself. Besides, the sand is not an ashtray. Fwiw, the beaches in CA don't allow it, nor in HI or FL. View Comment
She might be a good communicator...but, she has a problem w/ her listening skills as well as following through. I've personal experience w/ this. I hope she loses her senate seat, too, she no longer belongs there either. She was my senator until the lines were redrawn. She certainly isn't Gov. material. View Comment
This article fails to mention what Vicki so selflessly did w/ the 100k prize money!!! Vicki donated it straight back to Purple Heart homes, which clearly demonstrates what kind of individual she is :)
I'm incredibly proud to call her a friend, and humbled to know her. There aren't many in this world like her.
Thank you Vicki for all the amazing work you've done for our vets, and you, too Steve. It's truly remarkable! View Comment
