Where does all this money go? Certainly not on our roads. Why is it that Connecticut has lower taxes and their roads are 10x better than ours? Same with our utility bills. Off the charts. Yet, how many times have you lost power for an extended period of time in the last few years? Why are we allowing this? What can we do?
I had that same car and it took me a while to get used to that gear shift on the wheel. She only had the car a few weeks and I can see how she might have panicked and gotten confused. My sympathies to the families of all involved. A tragedy. View Comment
I have that car. The gear shift is on the wheel. I found it very confusing at first and in that situation, she probably panicked and forgot. You have to push the stick down to go forward and up
to reverse. It is confusing at first and if she was not used to the car, I can see how this might have happened. View Comment
I wish there was some kind of safety switch that would be activated if there is weight on the crossing tracks. My passenger airbag has something like that embedded in the seat. If only there could be something similar that would activate a brake on the track when a certain amount of weight presses on the rail. Realize it wouldn't be easy but something like that might work. Glad to hear that they are also ticketing cars that follow too closely. I think this is a form of intimidation to us safe drivers who are following the speed limits. A pick-up truck followed me so closely today that I thought he was going to climb up my trunk. Scary. View Comment
His silence speaks volumes. If someone accused you of doing something this horrible, wouldn't you stand up and scream "I did not do this"? I think that's what an innocent person would do. Why has he not denied these accusations? View Comment
I hope with all my heart that the good people of Tarrytown who actually attend this disgusting sham of a show, refrain from giving the man a standing ovation as they did in Florida. But then, that was Florida. View Comment
Tawana Brawley? You've got to be kidding. How can you compare that one misguided young woman to the (I believe it is now 16) women who have come forward.
I do not believe that Mr. Cosby will have a full audience because I think there are people, a lot smarter than you, who will not condone his actions and will not patronize his show. Thank goodness for that.
Your comment that "rape would be wasteful of energy" is beneath contempt. View Comment
And conversely, would she make up such a story and leave herself open to criticism from people like you for a $20 parking fine?
This, my friends, is why Bill Cosby has gotten away with his antics for 20+ years and why women are loathe to tell what happens to them.
I hope you don't think I'm attacking you but if that's your opinion, I'm afraid you deserve it!
This is just so tragic. This handsome young man with his whole life ahead of him, gone in an instant and in unbelievable pain. I can only imagine what his family is going through. My sympathies to them. RIP. View Comment
I am sorry for all the people who looked upon their church and their priest as home and family. What will happen to them? What if they cannot drive to the new church?
Why is this happening again? View Comment
Yes, I didn't see a ticket for using his cellphone while driving. I thought that would be listed there, too.
Just heard that Rick Scott has pulled ahead in the governor's race in Florida, so yes, Flori-duh seems appropriate. View Comment
