Everyone who has a phone number that supports it (which is basically Optimum and FiOS customers) should sign up for Nomorobo.com. It is a free service (of which I have no relationship other than being a happy customer) and blocks calls from known telemarketers by picking up on the first ring and hanging up. I'm not sure if the numbers these scammers are calling from are part of their database, but if they are, these calls would never get thru to the attempted victims. View Comment
This article is a perfect example of how a poorly worded title and poor implementation of the Popular section on the top right of the page can lead to confusion. This article is several days old and no longer relevant. Yet it's the #1 article n the Popular section (of which 4 of the 5 are weather, so we know that 3 are old) and people will click on it thinking that it's current. You folks at Daily Voice need to do something so articles like this stop showing up in the Popular list when they're expired -- and ALWAYS put the actual day in the title so it's at least obvious that it's not current. Perhaps you're also using too long a period to determine if an article is popular and it should only be a day or two. View Comment
This is one of those terrible articles they post where it's the same for all towns but they change the name in the title (my article says Yorktown). Really annoying. At least in my case, there are actually two Yorktown restaurants listed. View Comment
While the JV Mall renovations were approved surprisingly quickly, I wouldn't point to it as a success given that there hasn't been any action to actually start the work. And the Costco approval process has been a textbook example of why companies would NOT want to even consider coming to Yorktown. I give them credit for sticking it out but other companies would likely have gone to plan B a long time ago. View Comment
The mall has become irrelevant because of better options that are not as convenient to me. I live five minutes away and never shop there. It would be great to see them do something along the lines of what Simon did to the Nanuet Mall. Sad that past town boards did not allow the mall to expand when they wanted to. How different things might have been.
BTW add Radio Shack to the list of stores that are closing. Both that one and the one in the Triangle Center are on the list of 2/28 closures. View Comment
It's amazing how people opposed to a project can distort the facts. In Yorktown, where Costco is finally getting approval, opponents claimed that the delivery trucks would be terrible, but they ignore the fact that no one notices trucks delivering to BJ's across the street, or the the dozens of UPS trucks that must go in and out of downtown Yorktown every day for their depot. How about the trucks delivering to Target in MK? Have they caused problems with traffic there? It's even further away from 684. View Comment
Didn't they do the publishing of stuff there and didn't RD sell millions of issues a month back then? Wouldn't there have been a LOT of trucks going to and from the location? Did anyone complain about truck traffic then? View Comment
I love it, getting stuck in an ambulance because of retail traffic.. the same lame excuse used by a laughable opponent of the Costco in Yorktown, which coincidentally got approved the same week as this project.
This is great news and Whole Foods is going to do extremely well in that location. View Comment
No scare tactics? What about all of his mailers blaming Wagner for his employer's clients, as if he had any say over them? I can't believe he was elected. But then again, this is the same district that elected Greg Ball twice.
So let's see how he manages to kill Common Core, as he promised. View Comment
