The restaurant will offer residents "authentic homestyle barbecue food," according to a press release from the group. The restaurant will open at 749 Central Park Ave. later this season, representatives said in the release.

"Owner and head Chef Douglas Lo Cicero has been an avid backyard barbeque expert for many years, earning him the distinction amongst friends as the 'Pitmaster,'" representatives said in the release. "The former Chef of The Tapp in Tarrytown, started out years ago hosting barbeques for friends during the summer months and was happy to just man the grill and serve up what he considered the real deal in barbeque delights. Through the years the ambitious chef learned to cook, low and slow and has crafted the art of making everything from homemade beef brisket and sausages to his very own special barbeque sauce and spice rubs."

The chef said in the release that he is standing by the motto of quality over quantity.

“It has been my lifelong dream to open a genuine barbecue restaurant where I can offer quality food with my special secret spices and homemade sauces I personally developed through the years,” said Lo Cicero in the release. “I am excited to add to the great restaurant mix offered in Westchester County and give local residents a taste of different kinds of barbecue cooking styles.”

D & A Smokehouse is named after chef and owner Douglas and his business partner and dad Anthony, according to the release.

Grand opening details are set to be released soon at the D & A Smokehouse Facebook page and the restaurant's website.
