SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The New York Times gave Scarsdale's Taiim Cellar , a Middle Eastern restaurant and wine bar, a 'good' review this week.
"The hummus was a revelation," wrote reviewer Alice Gabriel. "The silken classic, fragrant with lemon and sesame and packing a brisk heat, bore no resemblance to store-bought hummus."
Gabriel had more mixed views on the second visit to the new eatery.
"The mood was desultory and the food failed to excite us as it had before," Gabriel wrote. "The view through the window behind our table was of a dim indoor shopping arcade. Our waitress was listless. The jazz mix included a passage of clashing piano chords that made us wonder if the proprietors were hoping to drive us out of the restaurant."
The full review can be read on the New York Times website.
