SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Author Martha Hodes will speak at the Scarsdale Library in the Scott Room on Monday, March 7, at 7 p.m.

Light refreshments will be available with a book signing to follow and books available for purchase.

Her work, "Mourning Lincoln" was a National Book Award Longlist Finalist. Public responses to the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln have been well chronicled, but this book is the first to delve into the personal and intimate responses of everyday people following the news of his death on April 15, 1865.

Hodes is a professor of history at New York University, and has taught as a Fulbright scholar in Germany and as a visiting professor at Princeton University.
