SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Mayor Jonathan Mark will be the featured guest at the upcoming Scarsdale Forum and Membership Meeting, where he will provide the annual "State of the Village" address.
On Thursday, Oct. 6, Mark will be joined by local landlord Rush Wilson, who will discuss his "Landlord's View of the Village" at the popular membership meeting. Additionally, the Forum's Non-Partisan Procedure Committee will provide a brief review of the non-partisan system.
There will also be a portion of the evening dedicated to Forum members that will include votes on two previously released reports: "the Scarsdale World Languages Program and the Introduction of Mandarin in the Middle School" by the Education Committee and "the Scarsdale Public Library Renovation and Expansion Project," both of which were previously discussed during the summer.
Scarsdale residents that wish to vote on the reports can join the Scarsdale Forum before the latest meeting.
The meeting gets under way at 8 p.m. on Thursday in the Scott Room at the Scarsdale Public Library. Preceding the meeting, there will be a reception honoring Village Justice John H. Galloway III and retired School Board President Suzanne Seiden at 7:30 p.m.
The Scarsdale Forum is a civic organization that is more than a century old. It is dedicated to improving life in Scarsdale. The forum studies issues before local, regional and state governing bodies and provides input and recommendations through public reports and statements.
