Scarsdale Library Program Discusses How Well-Being Increases With Aging

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Dr. Jimmie Holland and Mindy Greenstein, a clinical psychologist, will discuss how our sense of well-being actually increases with age in a program titled “Lighter as We Go” on Saturday at 2 p.m., in the Scott Room at the Scarsdale Public Library.

“Lighter as We Go” introduces compassion, justice, community and culture to help calm our cascading fears of aging. Greenstein and Holland will show that, contrary to common wisdom, one’s sense of well-being actually increases with age -- often even in the presence of illness or disability.

Holland and Greenstein wrote the book "Lighter as We Go: Virtues, Character Strengths, and Aging," which was published in 2014.

The Scarsdale Public Library is at 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.
