What To Do In Scarsdale This Weekend

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A teen writers’ conference, an appearance by "Jersey Shore" star Sammi Sweatheart and an annual village race are a few of the events happening in the Scarsdale area this weekend.

Friday

Third-Annual Teen Writers’ Conference : 5 to 7:30 p.m. Local authors will share their experience with Scarsdale students during workshops focused on topics such as creating plots and characters, learning about the making of novels, writing pieces of comedy, writing reviews and pitching ideas to editors. The event is sponsored by the Teen Advisory Board, a program of the Scarsdale Library. Scarsdale High School, 1057 Post Road.

Saturday

"Jersey Shore's" Sammi Appearance : 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sammi Sweatheart, cast member of the hit MTV series "Jersey Shore" will be at Midway Wine & Liquors to sign bottles of her line of flavored vodka , "Smush." Midway Wine & Liquore, 1001 Central Park Ave.

44th Annual Scarsdale 15K & 4M Runs : 9:15 a.m. This is the oldest race in Westchester County and includes the 15K & 4M Race, known as the Abe Simon Memorial Team Race. It is for five-member male teams for those 50 years of age or older and three-member female teams of those 40 years of age or older. The Kids Fun Run for children 12 and under is a 1-mile run held on the track. Day-of registration may be done from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at the Scarsdale High School cafeteria. The four mile run begins at 9:15 a.m.; the 15 kilometer run begins at 9:30 a.m. and the Kids Fun Run begins at 11 a.m. Runners meet on turn field inside track. Scarsdale High School, 2 Brewster Road.
