SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale Medical Group will host a free breast self-exam seminar from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at its Harrison office, 600 Mamaroneck Ave.
Presented by obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Beth Simon, the seminar will provide education on how to correctly perform a breast self-exam at home.
Attendees will learn what a breast self-exam is, why it is important, how to do a breast exam and next steps to take if a lump is detected, including information about referrals to a breast surgeon.
“Regular breast examination is crucial,” said Simon. “By performing a breast self-exam monthly, you get to know how your breasts normally look and feel so you can detect any changes more easily.”
Space is limited and pre-registration is advised. Reservations must be received by Monday.
