SCARSDALE, N.Y. – More than 3,600 Con Edison customers remained without power in Scarsdale on Monday afternoon, one week after Hurricane Sandy hit the village.

According to the Con Edison outage map, 3,617 of the 6,025 customers were still being affected by outages. A total of 21 roads remained closed, and village officials requested that additional crews be dispatched to Scarsdale, Mayor Miriam Levitt-Flisser said in an update.

Only five Con Edison crews were currently working in the village, which remains among the most affected in Westchester County. One crew was clearing trees, one was cutting power lines and the remaining three were working to restore electrical power.

County Executive Rob Astorino was at an Emergency Operations Center in Scarsdale on Sunday night to assess the damage. During the meeting, he said fuel supplies were adequate and deliveries would continue. He was set to speak with Con Edison President Kevin Burke to press the village’s power outage situation.

Four outages near Popham Road continue to affect 199 customers. An outage on Atherstone Road has eliminated power to an additional 183 customers. A total of 13 outages around Scarsdale Park were affecting 479 customers, and downed wires left 132 customers on Baraud Road powerless.
