SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A Scarsdale resident found a screw in all four tires on his 2009 Jeep Cherokee and his wife’s 2013 Mercedes E350, police said.

The victim noticed the low tire pressure warning light appear on his car last Thursday and took it to a mechanic, who found the screws in his four tires. He took his Jeep home, where he searched his wife’s car. He found the same type of screws wedged between each of the tires and the surface of the driveway in a position that would have penetrated the tires if she had backed up the car, according to the police report.

The screws were all two inches in length and the damage to the Jeep was $1,000, police said.

The suspect is unknown, but would face two felony counts of third-degree criminal mischief.
