SCARSDALE, N.Y. A Mahopac construction worker told Scarsdale police Thursday morning that tools worth about $1,200 had been stolen overnight from a construction site on Park Road.
The Bell Heating and Air employee told police that, when he finished work about 7 p.m. Wednesday, he put his tools on the third floor of the house behind other construction materials to hide them. When he returned at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, they were gone.
According to the report, other tools had been left overnight by other workers, but there were no other reports of theft. A worker who left after the Bell Heating and Air worker said he saw the tools in question when he left work.
The house was left unlocked overnight as it is undergoing a complete reconstruction.
