SCARSDALE, N.Y. Margaret C Archibald, a former Scarsdale resident recently of White Plains, died Sunday, Aug 12. She was 86.
Born Feb. 7, 1926, in Buffalo, Archibald was the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Marion Gray Camp. She attended Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel. On June 7, 1947, she married John James Archibald at Good Counsel Chapel.
Margaret Archibald worked as director of volunteers at St. Agnes Hospital and director of catering for the White Plains Woman's Club. She was an active member of the American Boxer Club and Westchester Kennel Club. She was also a longtime member of Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck.
She is survived by three children, Deborah (Michael) Archibald Gorney of Northport, N.Y., Margaret (Edward) Archibald Sutton of White Plains and John James (Toni) Archibald Jr. of Rye Brook; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband on July 26, 1980.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home in White Plains. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in White Plains. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
