According to police, residents spotted a woman driving her Chevrolet convertible dangerously at 10:30 p.m. in the area before police responded to the vehicle, which was then stopped and parked in the area.

In his report, Officer Steven Delbene said that when he approached the vehicle, he detected “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage,” which the suspect, Lisa Pierdiluca, 54, confirmed when she produced a 750 milliliter bottle of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Whiskey that was missing approximately three quarters of its contents.

During his discussion with Pierdiluca, Delbene, “observed her to have bloodshot, glassy eyes,” and she “was heavily slurring her speech when she spoke.” According to the report, the suspect may have fallen asleep at one point while being questioned by officers on the scene.

When she got out of her vehicle to attempt a field sobriety test, police said that she was stumbling badly and needed to be held up to prevent her from falling to the pavement, and during the tests, she couldn’t stand upright without dramatically swaying.

After failing the field sobriety tests, Pierdiluca was placed under arrest and charged with misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated because her blood alcohol content was .21 percent, which is more than double the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

The suspect is due back in Scarsdale Village Court on Wednesday, June 25.
