Have you seen him?

Police in Yonkers are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to track down a suspect who is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender in the area.

An alert has been issued regarding 59-year-old Charles Keitt, who is wanted for failing to appear in court and to register as a sex offender. The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Keitt as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Keitt had sexual contact with two 11-year-olds and a 7-year-old girl in September 2000. He was convicted of first-degree sexual abuse and course of sexual conduct with a child under the age of 11 in August the following year. He served five years in prison and is under the jurisdiction of the Yonkers City Police Department SOR Unit.

Keitt has been described by police as a 6-foot man weighing approximately 185 pounds with a large build. He has brown eyes, gray hair and tattoos on both arms. He was last known by police to reside on Bruce Avenue in Yonkers.

Anyone with information regarding Keitt’s whereabouts or who recognizes him has been asked to contact detectives with the Yonkers Warrant Squad by calling (914) 377-7253.
