SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Scarsdale Mayor Robert Steves will present the “State of the Village” on Oct. 3 at the Scarsdale Forum Inc. general membership meeting.

The meeting kicks off at 8 p.m. in the Scott Room at the Scarsdale Public Library. Preceding the meeting, there will be a reception celebrating former school board trustees and Presidents Elizabeth Guggenheimer and Jill Spieler at 7:30 p.m.

The second half of the night’s program will feature a presentation by the Forum’s Sustainable Scarsdale and Fiscal Affairs Committees, entitled: “Mulching: Good for the Village and Good for your Lawn.” Village officials have placed an extra emphasis on finding alternative, environmentally friendly ways to dispose of leaves in recent years.

A question-and-answer period will follow each presentation.

The Scarsdale Forum is a civic organization that is more than a century old. It is dedicated to improving life in Scarsdale. The forum studies issues before local, regional and state governing bodies and provides input and recommendations through public reports and statements.
