Candidates Named For School Board Nominators

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Scarsdale's non-partisan Administrative Committee has announced its candidates for School Board Nominating Committee (SBNC) for the Jan. 17 election.

According to the SBNC website, the members of the SBNC are elected by the residents of their election unit, each unit corresponding to one of the five elementary school districts in Scarsdale — Edgewood, Fox Meadow, Greenacres, Heathcote and Quaker Ridge. Each election unit elects six voting members, two each year, to serve staggered three-year terms, so that there are 10 voting members elected to the SBNC each year, with a total of 30 voting members on the SBNC.

In 2012, the SBNC will nominate two candidates to the board to fill the seats of Mary Beth Gose and Lewis Leone, Jr., who will be completing their first terms and are eligible for re-nomination.

The SBNC candidates include (full bios on the SBNC website ):

Edgewood: Kathryn Conlan, John Cromwell, Mary Beth Evans, Neil Pierson

Fox Meadow: Diane Baylor, Mary Lou D'Silva, Jamie Reiffel Kefer, Joan Mazur

Greenacres: Amy Lewis, Dana Matsushita, Michael McKenna, Barry Meiselman

Heathcote: Amy Cohen Bauman, Peggy DaSilva, Gary Simon, Gregory Soldatenko
