The Scarsdale Recreation Department maintains 20 parks, playgrounds and sports fields, 26 tennis courts, six paddle tennis courts and a municipal swimming pool complex. School district facilities complement the town parks and sports fields. County-owned Saxon Woods Golf Course and Bronx River Parkway Reserve are also available to residents. Recreational Summer Day Camp programs are offered for children ages 5-13, along with specialized programs (sports camp, soccer camp, digital video, teen travel camp). The Weinberg Nature Center, 455 Mamaroneck Rd, 914-722-1289, offers educational programming for preschool and school age children, and its facilities include a Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden, and a Japanese Style Zen Meditation Garden. Classes and programs include tennis, sports (youth soccer, football, basketball-youth & adult, running club, wrestling, baseball), arts & crafts, music, chess, middle school "rec" nights, youth employment services, driver education, senior adult services and activities. Special Recreation Programs are offered through the South East Consortium for Special Services for individuals with disabilities and special needs in the towns/villages of Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Rye, Rye Brook, Port Chester and Tuckahoe.
