Young Black Bear Roams Arlington Arlington residents have been reporting multiple sightings of a young black bear roaming neighborhoods Monday morning, May 13. The Animal Welfare League of Arlington said it was made aware of "several" reported sightings of the juvenile black bear. ARLNow reports multiple sightings from users of the Nextdoor app, including a spotting on the 2500 block of North Florida Street, and another Monday morning on North Harrison and 26th Street. Dulles Town Center BB Gun Shooter Captured After 14-Minute Search That Closed Stores, Cops Say A teenager is in custody after police say he shot a Dulles Town Center store employee with a BB gun in a shoplifting incident over the weekend. On Saturday, May 11, around 4:30 p.m., Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Foot Locker store at the Dulles Town Center Mall for a reported robbery, injured person, and suspect who had fled. Woodbridge Motorcyclist, 32, Killed In Newington Crash A 32-year-old motorcycle was killed in a Fairfax County crash over the weekend, police said. Cornell Parish III, of Woodbridge, crashed on Rolling Road near Delong Drive in Newington while riding his 2003 Honda 1300 just before 5:20 a.m. Sunday, May 12, county police said. Woman Shoots Herself Trying To Reinsert Magazine Into Gun, Philadelphia Police Said A 40-year-old woman was hospitalized after accidentally shooting herself in the chest early Sunday, May 12 in Philadelphia, police said. Police were called to the 1900 block of N. Croskey Street around 12:55 a.m., where the woman had suffered gunshot wounds to her chest before being taken to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle, police said. NJ State Trooper Who Died During Training Leaves Behind Wife, Daughter (Service Details) Arrangements have been finalized for New Jersey State Police Trooper II Marcellus E. Bethea, who died during training last week. Bethea, 33, had been training to join the TEAMS Unit, an emergency response unit "prepared to handle extra ordinary police emergencies," the NJSP website says. He died on Sunday, May 5. Gov. Women Who Tried To Interfere With Man's Arrest In Disarming Philly Officer Sought By Police Police have arrested the man who they say assaulted and robbed an off-duty officer of his gun. The officer was at 2100 West Oxford Street when he was approached by the man around 7:10 a.m., police said.
