Police and firefighters were at the scene of the fire reported at 3:55 p.m. on Louis Street, according to Lt. James Novak, a Sayreville police spokesman. Alternate arrangements were being made to bring the students home, Novak said. The cause of the fire had not been determined as of press time. Residents were urged to avoid the area.
